NOW & THEN #07- KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

Image
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT 02/03/2021 Tuesday 02/03/2021 Knowledge Management Yesterday, I submitted a proposal to my friend to present a short talk on Knowledge Management to his company, a Government Link Company. From my observations, many government organisations and private companies are not doing the right thing when it comes to Knowledge Management. As an engineer, it is my duty to ensure that engineering knowledge is captured, archived and made available to younger engineers especially on lessons learned from engineering projects and practice. NOW &THEN #15 : SCHOOL LIBRARIES

Image
Tuesday, 9 March 2021 During a business discussion with Dr. Ghazali Mohd Fadzil on the role of Knowledge Management in government departments and corporate bodies, he shared with me his ongoing project with Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), focusing on supporting school libraries in Kelantan. In 20 years, they will become adults, carrying mindsets that may diverge dramatically from their parents’. What kind of foundation are we laying for them—intellectually, socially, and spiritually? Frankly, I’ve lost hope ...

This profound statement resonates deeply with me, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, as it underscores the importance of writing as a tool for structuring thoughts and fostering clarity. It is one of the key reasons I have committed myself to writing regularly during these challenging times. This morning, I watched a talk by Dr. Pavan on the *Seven Habits of Creative People*. His insights prompted me to reflect on Stephen Covey’s famous *Seven Habits of Highly Effective People*. The common thread between these two frameworks is the concept of *habit*. Habits are the building blocks of creativity and effectiveness, and they shape the way we live our lives. Recognizing this, I have made it a personal goal to cultivate the habit of writing by dedicating time every morning to jotting down at least three pages of whatever c...
